From the Studio Floor: Artist Call for Charity Exhibition

From the Studio Floor - News - MLM

From the Studio Floor is the fifth in a series of international shows that are dedicated to bringing the works of artists together and spotlighting hidden talent.

We are proud to be sponsoring this event again this year together with Stace Construction & Property Consultants and Carter Jonas.

As part of our sponsorship of the event, we will be working with Cam Sight, a Cambridgeshire based charity that supports local people living with low vision and blindness, to help raise funds. The exhibition will feature work from several visually impaired artists, raising awareness of the importance of the arts to people with visual impairment.

The event will provide an informal and relaxed setting, featuring a selection of new unseen conceptual works, etchings, instillations, sculptures, drawings and paintings for the public to see.

Speaking about the exhibition, Curator Jessica Oliver comments: “We initially launched From the Studio Floor at Anise Gallery, Bermondsey, where we displayed a collection of various artwork from London artists. It was so successful, with such momentum building around the show we wanted to grow the exhibition nationally and internationally for many different charities. We’ve hosted shows as far as New Zealand, however, with such a warm reception last year in Cambridge we couldn’t resist putting together one more exhibition in support of such an amazing charity – Cam Sight.”

Artists are invited to get involved by contributing just one piece of artwork, either commissioned especially for the show or from an existing series.

Submissions can be in any medium: from sculpture to etchings, instillations to oil paintings. Curated from an open call to artists both new and established, “From the Studio Floor” means just that – a collection of work directly from the artists’ studio.

The closing date for submissions is midnight on 20 December 2017. It is free to enter and applications can be made at
