The project was the conversion of an existing disused large warehouse industrial unit into a Technical College for 500+ students. The college provides a wide range of academic, practical, manufacturing and construction based courses.
MLM provided details M & E design services for the subcontractor. The project included multiple and varied M & E systems including central heat recovery ventilation, heating, air conditioning, specialist extract systems for process and woodworking ventilation.
The project required major reworking of the building layout including the installation of an upper floor, construction of specialist workshop areas with services for foundry, woodworking, vehicle engineering and construction trades. Major upgrades to utility services and provision of new central systems for high level IT and data provision to serve a technically advanced college building were required.
