The Trinity Free School forms one half of the new education campus founded on the former Wildernesse Boys School site in Sevenoaks.

The Trinity School which opened in September 2013 is currently situated within temporary accommodation elsewhere in Sevenoaks but will be housed within a new 4 form entry school which will provide a permanent base for nearly 800 students and 70 staff.

The MEP design was undertaken following the EFA FOS standards which include a significant sustainability focus around Climate Based Daylight Modelling, Thermal Modelling and Energy in Use. These parameters were identified and embedded into the design process to provide an MEP design which met the design standards whilst being measured against the cost benchmark information.

With a phased occupation for education intake years the MEP design incorporated the ability for operation on an increasing area for primary plant and distribution services. This ensured the running costs for the school were maintained in accordance with the number of pupils in attendance.

The use of photovoltaics increased the sustainability aspect of the design, thereby meeting local authority renewable targets, whilst also reducing energy bills.
